2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

A. Information You Provide Directly:

• Full name and email address when creating an account

• Password (stored securely — we never see your plain-text password)

• Profile information including display name, bio, and avatar photo

• Phone number if provided in account settings

• Payment information (processed securely by Stripe — we do not store card numbers)

• Content you post in community chat rooms including text, images, videos, and voice notes

• Communications you send to us via email

B. Information Collected Automatically:

• IP address and general location data

• Browser type, device type, and operating system

• Pages visited, features used, and time spent on the Platform

• Login and logout timestamps

• Cookies and similar tracking technologies (see Section 7)

C. Information From Third-Party Services:

• Stripe — payment processor. We receive confirmation of payment status and a customer ID. We do not receive or store full card details

• Supabase — our database and authentication provider. Your account data, community posts, and subscription status are stored securely in Supabase

• Vercel — our hosting provider. May collect server logs including IP addresses

3. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your account

• Process your subscription payments and verify your membership tier

• Provide access to courses, community rooms, and platform features based on your subscription

• Display your profile information and community posts to other members

• Send you important account notifications, billing updates, and platform announcements

• Respond to your support requests and inquiries

• Enforce our Terms of Service and community rules

• Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security threats

• Improve our Platform features and user experience

• Comply with legal obligations

We do NOT sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your information for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects.

• Community content you share in community rooms is visible to other paid members of that room

• Content in the private Mindset room is visible only to Mindset tier members and administrators

• Partners and instructors who moderate community rooms may see your posts and username in those rooms

• We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or government authority

• We may share information to protect the rights, property, or safety of SMBM, our members, or the public

• In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of SMBM, your information may be transferred to the new owner with advance notice

5. DATA STORAGE & SECURITY

• Your account data is stored securely in Supabase using encrypted connections and row-level security policies

• Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text

• Payment information is processed and stored by Stripe, which is PCI-DSS compliant. SMBM never stores your full card number, CVV, or sensitive payment details

• Media files including images, videos, and voice notes are stored in Supabase Storage with access controls

• Our Platform is served over HTTPS — all data transmitted between your browser and our servers is encrypted

• We implement reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect your data

Important: No method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security. You use our Platform at your own risk.

6. DATA RETENTION

• We retain your account information for as long as your account is active

• If you cancel your subscription, your account data is retained for 90 days before deletion to allow for account reactivation

• Community posts and content may be retained even after account deletion at SMBM's discretion, as they form part of the community record

• Payment records are retained as required by law and for accounting purposes

• You may request deletion of your account and personal data by emailing smbmconnect@smartmoneybrokeminds.com

7. COOKIES & TRACKING

Our Platform uses cookies and similar technologies to enhance your experience:

• Essential cookies — required for login sessions and platform functionality. Cannot be disabled

• Authentication tokens — Supabase uses secure session tokens stored in cookies to keep you logged in

• Analytics cookies — we may use basic analytics to understand how members use the Platform

By using our Platform you consent to the use of essential cookies. You may control optional cookies through your browser settings, but disabling essential cookies will prevent you from logging in.

8. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

Our Platform is intended for users who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18. Partners and instructors who contribute content to the platform are subject to additional confidentiality obligations outlined in their Partner & Instructor Agreement. Partner access to member data is limited to what is necessary to perform their moderation and content responsibilities within their assigned course room.

Our Platform may contain links to third-party websites including course resources, webinar platforms, and external tools. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit.

14. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. When we make material changes we will notify you by updating the Last Updated date at the top of this policy and where appropriate by sending you an email notification.
